MAGENJAE

A freelance couture designer trained at the bench — built on intention, ethics and craftsmanship.

The Designer

Designed with intention.
Crafted with purpose.

Magen is a freelance couture fashion designer focused on eveningwear, bridal and special-occasion pieces executed with couture-level precision and artistry. A graduate of Lehigh Carbon Community College and The Baum School of Art, she brings both technical expertise and creative vision to every garment.

Her training spans pattern drafting, draping on the form, bias-cut construction, hand-finishing, beading and lace application — the quiet skills that separate couture from off-the-rack. Each piece is built on the form, fitted to the wearer, and finished by hand from the inside out.

Guided by a philosophy of intentional and ethical design, every garment is thoughtfully made to reflect sophistication, structure, and timeless beauty — balancing modern elegance with enduring craftsmanship.

The Designer Magen Jae
01 · Education

Trained in fashion design at Lehigh Carbon Community College and refined her drawing eye at The Baum School of Art. Both programs grounded her in the fundamentals — figure proportion, sketching, pattern drafting and historical garment construction.

02 · Technical Craft

Working knowledge of pattern making, draping, bias-cut tailoring, corsetry, beading and hand-applied lace. Comfortable on the dress form, in CAD, and at the bench — from the first toile through final hand-stitched closure.

03 · Studio Practice

Independent atelier practice based in the Lehigh Valley. Each piece is one-of-a-kind, made-to-measure, and finished from the inside out — the quiet rigor that separates couture from off-the-rack.

Origin & Evolution

A thread from then
to now.

When Magen was a little girl, she fell in love with fashion and styling — something about the freedom of choice felt like power. Her schedule was set, her food was chosen for her, but what she decided to wear on her body, that was hers. The thread between past and present is woven into every stitch.

Philosophy

Three values, woven through every stitch.

01

Intention

Hand-drawn ink sketch of a flowing gown by Magen Jae

Every silhouette starts with the wearer in mind. Fabric, drape and detail are chosen to honor the woman and the occasion she's dressing for.

02

Ethics

Materials are sourced thoughtfully, garments are constructed to last, and nothing leaves the studio that hasn't been finished by hand.

03

Craftsmanship

Hand-finished closures, hand-applied lace, hand-set bias seams — the quiet details that mark couture from off-the-rack.

Creating straight from the soul has always felt like the blueprint. I start there with an idea, and then I sharpen it with details that feel deeply personal to me
